The Yamaha F150 is arguably the most successful and popular 150HP outboard motor ever created. Utilizing a robust, large-displacement 2.7-liter inline 4-cylinder architecture, this mechanical-control variant relies on pure displacement and tuned intake tracts to create a massive wave of low-end torque. By optimizing airflow through long-tube intake tracks and utilizing a weight-saving composite manifold, it generates blistering hole shots without the added complexity of a heavier block.

This 2.7L powerhouse features dual overhead camshafts (DOHC) with four valves per cylinder for immaculate high-RPM breathing. Engine harshness is virtually eliminated using integrated twin counterbalancing shafts, making it remarkably smooth and quiet at cruising speeds. Compatible with traditional remote mechanical controls, it offers a straightforward, low-maintenance rigging solution that has made it the undisputed favorite for repowering older hulls and outfitting new ones alike.

Models Available:

• F150XD: Standard right-hand rotation, mechanical control with a 25-inch extra-long shaft. The gold standard for deep-V transoms, large pontoons, and single-engine coastal boats.

• LF150XD: Counter-rotation gearcase variant with a 25-inch extra-long shaft. Engineered specifically to balance steering torque, eliminate hull roll, and optimize tracking on twin-engine offshore setups.

• F150LD: Standard right-hand rotation, mechanical control with a 20-inch long shaft layout. Tailored for bass boats, bay boats, and shallower transoms requiring 150HP of mechanical muscle.
